Proactive Advocacy

Several members of the CCAE executive board and advocacy committee recently met with NCAE Attorney Ann McColl to discuss ways that our local can be proactive when advocating for our members.

A key topic was the procedure for handling employee grievances.  The advocacy committee is working on a brief for members that will help with this process.  The general session of the AR meeting in October will feature the topic of Teacher Rights.  We hope to see many of you there.

Stay tuned for more information.

Congressman Price Reaches Out to CCAE

Congressman David Price asked to speak to a small group of teachers.
CCAE responded with several teachers from various disciplines.   They
expressed their frustration with the General Assembly’s budget as well
as Gov. McCory awarding substantial raises to his staff.

They also expressed frustration over trying to teach twenty-first
century learners with twentieth century funding!

The congressman explained his legislation that was designed to retain
teachers in the profession.
